Dr. STEVE KERSHAW, B.A. (Hons.); Ph.D.
Dr. Steve Kershaw (B.A. (Hons.); Ph.D.) is an expert on dead languages and the people who don’t speak them anymore.
He’s been captivated by the Greeks and Romans ever since he read Homer’s Iliad with his torch under the
bedclothes at the age of 10, and hasn’t stopped talking and writing about them
ever since. Steve has spent the last 40 years travelling in the
world of the ancient Greeks and Romans, both physically and in his head, and he's been a Classics tutor for some 30 years,
operating at all levels from complete beginner to Ph.D. He
currently works out of the Oxford University Department for
Continuing
Education, creating and teaching courses for the weekly class programme,
the MLA, summer schools, and online. As Professor of
History of Art, he also runs the European Studies Classical Tour
for Rhodes College and the University of the South. Dr. Kershaw also teaches on the Year Courses at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Click on the links on the left for details of these and other courses.
